The next morning I awoke with a spirit of rejuvenation. I was thankful to God for the rest and thankful to God for the new positivity that I felt.

Something deep down was telling me that I was going to need it.

I knew I had to get a hold of Ted and see how the previous night had turned out. We also had to get to work putting the right security system in place.

My mother and I still had a great deal to work through as well. Our conversation over dinner was a good start, but this level of change was going to take more than a few words over fajitas to get used to.

I showered and was at the kitchen table within twenty minutes of waking up. I had a nice, hot cup of dark roast and my bible — the breakfast of champions!

God is good all the time. I was in need of some of His wisdom to start the day. I was pouring over my bible passages when I was met with a passage that changed my perspective on the different situations I was traversing.

Romans 5: 3-5

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
